Opens 6pm Thursday 14th June 2018
With a performance by Zsuzski Soboslay & Richard Johnson
In a darkened ANCA gallery, lit only with black lights, Adair will build a delicate network of web-like forms that glow iridescent blue and lead the viewer around the gallery. This work explores the notion that change and development can arise out of times of neglect and disinterest – creating possibilities that may not happen otherwise.
S.A.Adair works across disciplines, incorporating sculpture, installation, drawing and printmaking in her practice exploring the deconstruction, elimination and reconstruction of material and form to hint at the human matrix and experience. Her current installation work responds to the spaces we inhabit by exploring the physical, emotional and psychological undercurrents of personal engagement.
By exploring the nature of transition through an organic construct Locus forms an alternative world - growing, intertwining, and spreading across a vacant surface, enveloping the empty space. In this way, an alternative encounter can be created, one that is unexpected and full of wonder.
Locus is supported by artsACT project funding.
