Art Workshops Jervis Bay
Be inspired, learn and grow..........."Over the past 6 years I've been privileged to experience instruction by some of our best teachers who are themselves practising artists. I am grateful for their wisdom, insight and generosity and want to share this experience with you. I invite you to open up to learning, discovering and exploring your art practice in beautiful Jervis Bay with some of Australia’s best teachers.” Alison Chiam |
I am an artist who is committed to awesome art education in great places. My workshops utilise some of the best artist teachers in Australia in some of the most beautiful locations in NSW. When you register for a workshop you can be assured that you will be guided by experienced artists who are also educators.
My workshops are located primarily in Huskisson on the shores of beautiful Jervis Bay, I also run our signature week long getaway on Lord Howe Island and our Urban Landscapes workshop in Sydney. Our workshops cater for beginners to advanced students, supporting you to learn, explore and grow!!
The teachers are all practising artists and many have taught at major Australian art institutions such as UNSW Art and Design (formerly COFA) and the National Art School, and include Idris Murphy, Bernard Ollis, Andrew Antoniou, David Fairbairn, Joe Frost, Nick Collerson and Peter Sharp.
"The teaching and my experience was unique and joyful. Very Impressive, I would definitely recommend." Charlotte Whitby 2016
"With Alison I can assure you, you are in safe hands. A warm engaging facilitator who chooses artists she loves and loves to works with" Susie Latimore 2016.
"Alison is a talented and generous artist so it’s little wonder that her program consists of amazing artists and inspirational art educators. I guarantee that you’ll walk away from the weekend with new insights into your creative style, a gloriously evolved ability to express yourself and one or two newfound kindred spirits for your contact list." Catherine Moyle 2016

Alison Chiam is a painter who lives and works on the South Coast of NSW. When Alison made the decision to invite top art teachers Jervis Bay area to teach weekend workshops for adults she had no idea how successful the venture would become. Not only do local artists benefit from the workshops, but artists from Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, NZ and Canada recognise the value of her workshops and happily travel to Jervis Bay.
“I have a wealth of experience pulling together people, paint and places. I have an interest in empowering people to paint and in doing so developed Jervis Bay Artworkshops in 2010, I have organised painting trips such as an all-Women’s Painting Retreat at the Defiance Galleries Artist Residency at Kelton Plains, (just near Cooma) and at Quarantine Station in Sydney.
Most recently I have established Art Workshops Jervis Bay where I will continue my work hosting workshops with prominent artists to engage and inspire the art community.
