The 21st Biennale of Sydney SUPERPOSITION: Equilibrium and Engagement takes inspiration from quantum mechanics, Chinese philosophy, the Biennale Archive and the history of Sydney. This talk will introduce the way the exhibition is about art and history through detailed discussion of a survey of artworks, focusing on new works developed specifically for the exhibition. (1.5 hours with discussion)

The fourth in Duldig Studio’s CONVERSATION SERIES based around our current exhibition SLAWA: modernist art + design. Inspired by the inventiveness of Slawa Horowitz-Duldig and presented by leading creative practitioners and local business women, the talks focus on themes represented in the exhibition and the links to contemporary art and design thinking and practice.

Speaker:  Designer Grazia Materia from Graziaandco. Gracia's firm creates custom furniture for both function and aesthetics, with a focus on artistic partnerships. Director Grazia Materia has made it her mission to introduce 'mid century modernist furniture' design classics to interior designers and the interested public.
Grazia's company, Grazia and Co, were recently partnered in the launch of Featherston 2016 , a collaboration by Gordon Mather, Mary Featherston and Grazia & Co that showcased several Featherston classics revitalised in contemporary fabrics and colours.

Facilitator: Jane Scott, Art Consultant, is well qualified to talk about furniture design. Through her former role as CEO of Craft Victoria, Jane has worked with a diverse range of artisans and crafts peoplePrevious positions have included Director
over the years. She is a great advocate for craft, design and the hand-made. ,Tarawarra Museum of Art, Director, Monash Gallery of Art, Executive Director, Regional Arts Australia and Cultural Attaché, Embassy of Australia, Washington DC.
